To keep WinnieSMP fair, secure, and enjoyable for everyone, we maintain clear rules regarding the use of alternate accounts ("alts"). This page explains what is allowed, what is not, and how staff handle violations.

🎮 What Counts as an Alt Account

An alt account is any additional Minecraft account used by a player who already has a main account on the server.

Examples include:

  • A second purchased account

  • A sibling or shared household account (must be disclosed)

  • An account used for testing or anonymity

✅ Allowed Alt Usage

Alts are allowed on WinnieSMP under the following conditions:

  • You must disclose alts to staff if asked for verification.

  • Alts cannot be used to gain unfair advantages, such as farming items, AFK grinding, or duplicating rewards.

  • Alts may be used for roleplay, provided they do not interfere with gameplay fairness.

  • Household members may play together as long as they follow all server rules.

❌ Not Allowed

The following uses of alt accounts are strictly prohibited:

  • Ban evasion (using an alt to bypass a mute, ban, or punishment)

  • AFK farming (mob farms, crop farms, fishing, etc.)

  • Boosting (economy, votes, events, quests, or PvP stats)

  • Duplicating items or rewards

  • Using alts to spy on other players or private areas

Any of these actions may result in:

  • Confiscation of items

  • Temporary or permanent bans on all linked accounts

  • Rollbacks of affected areas

🛡️ Staff Enforcement

Staff may:

  • Request verification of linked accounts

  • Track suspicious activity

  • Apply punishments to all accounts involved in rule-breaking

Failure to cooperate may result in account restrictions.

📝 Tips for Staying Within the Rules

  • Use your alt only for legitimate gameplay.

  • Avoid leaving alts AFK for long periods.

  • Do not use alts to bypass gameplay limits.

  • If unsure, ask staff before using an alt.
